Viking sealed-burner and open-burner ranges, dual-fuel and all-gas, from 30-inch units to wide professional tops with a griddle section. Ignition, gas flow and simmer control account for most of what we see.

What these repairs actually come to
Flat $95 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.
Parts and labour together, by job
- Igniter or burner assembly $280 – $630
- Oven thermostat or heating element $250 – $730
- Control board or touch panel $400 – $850
- Dishwasher pump or control $290 – $1,240
- Refrigeration fan or defrost system $300 – $710
- Compressor or sealed-system repair $1,120 – $2,470
Which end of a band a job lands on is what the visit settles. The number you are given before anything is opened is a single figure, not a range.
What decides where inside a band a job lands
-
What failed
A door gasket, a spark module and a compressor are three different orders of job. Naming a number before the fault is found is naming a number at random.
-
Whether the part is current
Parts for current platforms are straightforward. Older units sometimes need a superseded number sourced, which changes both the price and the wait.
-
How it is installed
A dishwasher behind a custom panel and a freestanding range are not the same amount of labour to get at, whatever is wrong inside them.
-
Getting there
Four floors of walk-up stairs or a booked freight elevator is real time. It is quoted honestly rather than hidden in the parts line.

Fourth floor walk up on Prince Street and the burners kept clicking long after they lit. A cracked igniter lead was shorting the spark module. He swapped the lead and cleaned the caps, and it lights first time now.

Gut renovated kitchen at the back of a three decker, and the pro top had never simmered properly since install. It had been left set up for propane. Converted correctly and it is a different machine.

Simmer would not hold low enough to keep a sauce from catching. The valve orifices were partly blocked and one had been reamed wrong at some point. He rebuilt it and the low end is usable again.

Where
Viking Range Repair around Boston
Access changes the visit more than the fault does. Each neighbourhood has its own page.
- North End Street parking is effectively nil and the stairs are narrow. Parts come up in a bag rather than on a trolley, which is worth knowing before a visit is booked.
- Ashmont Driveways and rear entrances make access straightforward. Kitchens moved into former pantries often leave very little clearance on the hinge side.
- Roslindale Side driveways and detached houses — the easiest access on this list, and usually a full-size kitchen to work in.
- Seaport District Loading dock, freight elevator and a certificate of insurance on file with the building. Booking the lift comes before booking the appliance.
